The Multimodal Planning Grant Program provides funding to train state, regional, and local staff, collect data, and develop implementable plans that advance context sensitive solutions; bicycle, pedestrian, and transit alternatives; compact urban design; access management; coordination of land use and transportation efforts; congestion reduction; and community visions of a balanced, multimodal transportation system. The program encourages intergovernmental cooperation, regional planning, public-private partnerships, and coalitions. Eligible applicants include the following:
